Sibling Rivalry

I like Luke just fine, don't get me wrong, but does mommy have to pay sooo much attention to him? She even lets him use my diaper changing table! That's not fair. Sometimes I just can't stand it. My favorite coping strategy right now is to fall down and fake an injury so I can get hugs and kisses. It also helps that daddy lets me jump up and down on him. It is a good way to work out my frustrations. Mommy and daddy keep reminding me of what I have learned in school, "Stop, take a deep breath, and relax".

Rub a dub dub

I finally got in the tub. The bath was so nice I slept through most of it. So I now have determined that sponge baths are bad and regular baths are good.

Professional photos

This weekend my big brother got his picture taken by a professional to mark his 2nd birthday. I don't know why he bothered when mommy is such a great photographer already. (See example below.)

Squirt

Daddy's squirt gun is lots of fun. Thanks for sharing daddy.

Happy Father's Day

Sunday was Father's Day and to celebrate Daddy I got him some firecrackers, a squirt gun, and a velcro catch game. These are really fun toys and he had better remember how important it is to share. I also got myself these cool Spiderman Shades. Happy Father's Day Daddy!

I see you

I know I've been "using" my eyes for the past 3 weeks, but I think I've just started to realize those colorful moving things are interesting people. I'll try to be a little more alert in the future. It would also help if I could get both eyes to work together. Darn double vision.

Smile for the camera

Today Ali and Dexter came to visit us. Nana, Mommy and Ali took lots and lots of pictures of me. I tried hard to open my eyes for the camera but I don't think I succeeded even once. Oh well.

Secrets

Hey Cole, I heard that Nana will give you extra snacks and tv shows if you ask her instead of mommy. Just a heads up.

Thanks Grandma

I know it has been a couple of days since you left, but Luke and I wanted to say thanks for taking care of us. I can't hardly wait to see you again on my birthday!

Blink!

My little dragonfly challenged me to a staring contest. Unfortunately I agreed before I realized he has no eyelids and I have chronic fatigue.

Bath time

You can give me a bath, but I don't have to like it. Naked is bad enough, naked and wet is just awful.

Boo-boo

Yesterday I was racing mommy outside and I fell down. I hurt my knee and it was bleeding! I know it is hard to believe, but this is the first time I have ever needed a Band-Aid. I like my Band-Aid so much I made mommy take a picture of it. I wonder if it will take me a year and 11 months before I get to wear another one.

Brotherly love

I know mommy is always calling Cole her little monkey, but he doesn't need to pick through my hair looking for bugs.

Cole always listens to me when I have something to say. He also likes to check my diaper for poop.

Summer Time

is here!

Numbers

Have I mentioned that I can easily count to 10. I like to repeatedly count to 4 when I am marching. I know what each number looks like. And I can tell you when there are 1 or 2 objects in front of me. Bring on the calculus, ok maybe just algebra.

Nature

I'm barely a week old and I already have some strong opinions.

Likes: eating, sleeping, snuggling; in that order
Dislikes: dirty diapers, diaper changes, being naked
I let people know my likes by being quiet and my dislikes by screaming at the top of my well developed lungs. I have found this to be a very effective way to communicate.

TV Time

Today Cole invited me to watch his favorite tv show, Caillou. To be honest, I'm not quite sure what he likes about it. I could barely keep my eyes open.

Marching Band

Check me out. I'm ready to audition for TBDBITL!

Visitors

I have had so many visitors lately. First Grandma and Grandpa come to stay with me, then Ali and Dexter stop in for the day. I know I'm fun to be around, but this confirms it. Of course they also wanted to see Baby Luke, but everyone knows that I'm the real entertainment around here.

Suntan

I don't know why mommy wanted me to lay out in the sun today. My skin is already a nice orangy color.

Hello world

After months of listening to the sounds around me I just couldn't wait to join the world. I don't think anyone minded that I was a little early. I am ready for some intense eating, sleeping, and snuggling (and Blogging).

Hello... Luke!

I've been hearing for months now that I'm going to be a big brother. So as promised I got to go to the hospital and meet a little baby. What I'm not so sure about is how this is supposed to be my new baby named Luke. I thought his name was Dexter. Hmmm, all babies look alike to me.

Friends

Have you met my friend Tyler? He lives next door to me. It is so nice to have friends to play with at school and at home! Mommy and Daddy told me that tomorrow I will get to meet my little brother. I hope he is as much fun as Tyler.
