Asthma?

I'm sorry to say that I had my 4th asthma attack Thursday. My rescue inhaler wasn't helping much so it was back to the doctor on Friday. After more breathing treatments there, the doctor sent me home with oral steroids, a twice daily inhaled controller medicine, and a nebulizer machine for 2-4 breathing treatments a day which replaces my rescue inhaler. The machine is very irritating as it requires me to sit still with the mask on for about 10 minutes. Don't they know I'm only 1 year old. Ten minutes feels like an eternity to me. Hopefully I will be done with the oral steroids and the nebulizer machine by Monday. I'm going to stay on the daily controller for about a month and then try to get off of that. Despite all these meds I still sound a bit wheezy and crackly.

The doctor can't say yet whether I really have asthma or not. I have had a cold every time I've had breathing problems, so it could just be related to that. Daddy thinks I had an asthma attack this time because of stress. Right before I got sick a bad little person at school bit me really hard on my shoulder. What a rough life!

Balloons!

Today I went to the Balloon Festival. We saw really, really, really big balloons! They flew up high in the sky. They also had a bouncy house and bouncy slide. That was super fun.

Too bad Luke is too little to go in the bouncy house, but I think he had fun anyway.

What bump?

If your face looked like this would you go to the doctor? Mommy said yes and daddy said no, so I got to go to Urgent Care with mommy tonight. I love seeing the doctor, especially when there are no shots and I don't even feel sick. Apparently my forehead is red and has a bump that has been getting bigger and bigger all day long. The doctor says I got bit by a spider. How exciting! I never even saw him bite me. Anyway, despite the look on my face, it doesn't hurt and I feel great.

Sticks and trees

Have I mentioned that I like sticks. I also like trees. Yet, I still feel an overwhelming compulsion to hit the tree with the stick. I'm not really worried, I don't think it hurts the tree much.

All Smiles

Yes we are.

Never fear library patrons....

Spiderman is here!

I swear I was in the library, see picture below. Did you know they have Spiderman capes and toys and computer games and story time at the library? Oh yeah, they also have books.

Topiary Park

Today mommy took me and Cole to a different park. It was filled with topiaries. According to Cole, topiaries are when you make people look like bushes. Whatever! The best thing about the park was the pond, which mommy wouldn't let me get near, and the benches.

Here is Cole being the best big brother ever.

Welcome to Preschool

As you may remember, I am a big 3 year old now and I go to Preschool! I've officially been in room 7 for three days now. I think I like it so far. There are a lot of big kids in my room and they have lots of ideas. It is kind of hard starting the day there, so I've been saying hi to my old teachers in Room 4 every morning. Plus I'm sure they are already missing me. The best thing about Preschool is the playground. They have big drums! Here are some pictures mommy took of my room. Here is me with my new teachers, Jason and Nicky. And here are some of my new friends. Brianna is in front and my new favorite friend, Brice, is next to me. Brianna already invited me to her birthday party at a pizza place! Note, it is not just the perspective in the picture, I am the littlest one in the room. Don't you worry, I'm still growing and I will get bigger and bigger every day.

Utensils!

I practice using a fork and spoon all the time at school. I'm not sure why mommy has been reluctant to let me try at home. Most of the yogurt ends up... near my face.

(Its fun to wear a Christmas bib in August!)

Me too, Grandma!

Yes its true, mommy left me to go to San Diego. I'm still not entirely sure why. I got to talk to her on the phone every day and I got to see her in the airport, which was awesome because I love the airport. (Do you know how many escalators they have there?!?) I didn't talk or cry much about mommy while she was gone but I made sure to throw some of my greatest temper tantrums ever. It helped a lot that Grandma and Grandpa came to play with me while she was gone. Thanks for distracting me and putting up with my bad behavior!

Thanks Grandma

Last week Mommy went away to a far away place called California. You'd think I would have been sad, but I wasn't. I had Grandma to play with!

We took her to see the butterflies. I think they liked her too.

In the big leagues

This week I've been visiting my new pre-school room. Every morning I've gone to play with my new older friends. Tomorrow I get to stay for lunch, Thursday I get to stay for nap time and on Friday I will officially be in Pre-school! I am in Room #7 with my new teachers Jason and Nicky and their pet turtle. To recognize this huge move toward being a grown-up, daddy changed my toddler bed into a big, big bed! For the first time in forever, I'm actually willing to go to sleep in my room. I know mommy and daddy will miss me, but they can come stay in my room if they get lonely. (Note my favorite bedtime things: my Harry Potter wand and Buzz Lightyear.)

Markers

I take my art very seriously. Yum.

Neighborhood party

This weekend our neighborhood had a party! People ran a race past our house and I got to spray them with my water guns and the garden hose. Then I got to be in my own race with my scooter around the gazebo. I guess I came in last, but it felt like winning to me because it ended with a popsicle. There was music and water shooters, lollipops and toothbrushes, arts and crafts, exercises and tatoos. In other words, it was awesome. Thank you neighborhood, I love you.

Upside down and backwards

Can you see me?! I'm loving upside down right now. Before only mommy and daddy put me upside down. Now I can do it myself.

So what's backwards? Despite my constant jabbering, squealing, and screeching, I really haven't managed to say any words consistently yet (unless you count uh-oh). So I've decided to skip on ahead to singing. Maybe I can learn the words that way.

Technology

Ali gave me her old iPhone. I've already figured out how to listen to music and play lots of different games, like Harry Potter spells and Find the Shapes. Daddy wanted to play too, so I taught him how to do the bubble popping game. I told him to keep practicing and he will get better at it.

Why does Cole get to wear the big coat?

Swinging

always makes me so sleepy.

Picnic with the Pops

Last night we listened to music, saw the Buckeye Marching Band, ate popcorn, and saw FIREWORKS! I thought fireworks were only for right before my birthday. I guess not. Daddy brought my glow sticks and I used them while I danced for all the people sitting near us. It was hard work, dancing like a maniac for an entire night of music, but I managed to pull it off.
