Monkey boys

Who did it better? I held on and dropped all by myself, but Luke lasted longer.

Beat

Summer is exhausting!

Wild boys

What is the best way to spend a long weekend? Playing with new friends! Today I met Roman and we shared my favorite outdoor toys, like my pool and water guns, and my favorite inside toys, like my light sabers and magic wand. And he brought cupcakes! I never wanted him to leave.

Don't we look tough?

Mmmm, hot dogs, chips, and fruit. And did I mention cupcakes?

Pool boy

First you fill the pool. Then you play in the pool. Then you write a song about the pool. It goes something like this (yelling instead of singing). "The pool is my favorite! The pool is my favorite! I love summertime!"

Beautiful day

How could this day get any better? How?

New Pet

Like my new pet?

Ha! Just kidding. Even though this snake has been hanging out in our back yard for the last two days, he's not my pet. Nothing could replace Abby. Not even a friendly snake.

Stress

It is hard to be a toddler. I have lots of great ideas and people are always getting in the way. Its always no, no, no. Why can't I put honey in my hair instead of my chicken nuggets? Why can't I take the toys I want away from Cole? Why can't I hit you on the head when you make me mad? Why do I have to take a bath? Why can't I try to pull the curtains down? Why can't I have juice instead of milk? Why do I have to sit in my car seat when I'd rather lay down in the back of the car? Why won't Abby let me ride her like a horse? And worst of all, why oh why does mommy have to leave me ever? Why would she want to walk into another room or go in the bathroom alone? I just don't get it. Sometimes I think grownups are no fun.

Drum set

I don't need to wait around for mommy and daddy to buy me some drums when I can just make my own. Anyone interested in joining my rock band?

Here's me in action!

Trying a new swing

Today I made my best attempt yet on the big kid swing. I had to concentrate very hard and only lasted about a minute, but I held on tight and didn't fall off. I'd say that's progress.

Party at the park

I love birthday parties. Especially when the party is at the park on a sunny day, there are lots of other boys to play with, and there are cupcakes with blue icing!

Transition

I am now officially in toddler room 4 at school. I was sad to leave my wonderful baby room teachers behind but I am just too big. Room 4 is Cole's old room so he spent some time showing me my cubby, the bathroom, the quiet area, the diaper area, dress up clothes, and many more places and things. What Cole and Mommy didn't realize is that I already have tons of experience in a grown-up room like this because I help drop off Cole in his preschool room every morning. So really its not as big a deal as you might think. One of the biggest changes includes being independent at meal times. I have to feed myself entirely on my own! This includes putting my own cereal and milk in a bowl, pouring my own drinks, cleaning up when I make messes, and NOT wearing a bib. I had to change clothes today because mommy put a yogurt in my lunch. I also get to do my own thing in the bathroom. I can wash my hands as many times as I like, and I like it. Monday was my first full day and as you might expect I cried and screamed for mommy when she tried to leave me. Today however, I was just too busy with my fruit loops. I gave mommy a kiss and said "mommy, work, bye-bye". I think the transition is complete.

I wonder what kinds of things I will learn from my new friends :)

Reunited

Back in 2008 mommy and daddy spent the weekend away from me. I know that I don't really remember that weekend. Maybe they thought I didn't mind. I'm not sure. Anyway, after three years they decided to go away again. Can you believe it! Luke and I stayed home with Grandma and Grandpa. I did my best to behave and only be a little sad. We had lots of fun but I am glad mom and dad are back. I hope they wait another three years before they leave together again.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Boys will be boys

Mother's Day means trips to the park, ice cream cones, and lots of hugs and kisses. Being the good son I did my best to to listen, behave and be the wild child mommy knows and loves. Activities included climbing as high as I can, catching frogs, throwing rocks in the creek, and getting into all kinds of trouble in the woods.

Bedtime talk:

Mom: Cole, I love being your mom.
Cole: Mom, I love being your kid.

I love you anyway

Don't feel bad mommy. I forgive you for not catching me before I lost my balance and smashed my face into the banister. Despite my boo boo, I had lots of fun with you today. Happy Mother's Day!

Shopping

I hit the jackpot today at the neighborhood yard sale. Check out my gently used pink lawnmower and giant Spiderman boots. Daddy laughed at the rundown lawnmower I bought, but he stopped laughing when I was still pushing it around the driveway 20 minutes later. Best 50 cents mom spent all week.

Baby in a tub

Can't believe I ever fit inside this!

Lazy Sunday

Rainy Sundays are great for dragon movies. Wish it was the weekend already.

Party planning

A conversation...

Mom: Cole, who do you want to invite to your birthday party?
Cole: Everyone in my entire life!

The shirt says it all

Maybe.
How about daddy making a basket with me?

Driving lessons

This weekend we took my bike to the safety town so I could learn the rules of the road. Or at least look like I'm a big kid in a little town. I couldn't figure out the street signs but I did know how to stop at the ATM for money!
