My shoes

Did you know that I am almost ready to go to pre-school? First, I need to be three, I need to only wear underpants, no diapers, and I need to put my own socks and shoes on. I'm getting pretty close on all three of those requirements.

Also, did you know that I am going on vacation tomorrow? I am going to the ocean with mommy, daddy, Luke, Abby, Grandma, and Grandpa. I'm going to swim, play with the sand, find seashells for my teachers, and play with Grandma and Grandpa. I'll be back in time for fireworks!

My first Popsicle! Cold and messy, but very tasty.

Happy Father's Day!

For Father's Day I let daddy set up all of my, I mean Luke's, new water toys. He turned our whole backyard into a water park. Father's Day is a great holiday. I played outside in the water all day long. I even ate lunch and special taco dinner outside. Thanks for playing with me daddy. Hope you had a great day. I sure did!

Water fun?

Today was the first day I got to try out all my birthday water toys. I know it was hot and sunny, but the water felt very cold to me. The water table worked well because I could stand up and just dip my fingers in. The other toys were a bit overwhelming. I tried to follow Cole's lead but he seemed much more ok with getting wet than I was. Maybe it was the cold water, or maybe it was the constant runny nose and goopey eyes that were interfering with my fun, I'm not sure.

Dancin' fool

Check out my moves! If I had been closer to the stage I'm sure the band would have asked me to come up.

Not only am I jammin here, but I'm also telling mommy that I need to go potty. (Good thing she figured that one out.)

Music Festival

Summertime is awesome. I get to go camping, use my slip-n-slide, shoot my super soakers, and go to festivals. Today I went to a music festival with mommy, daddy, and Luke. I played in the river, danced to music, ate ice cream, drank daddy's lemonade, and caught lightning bugs. I love it!

Catching lightning bugs.

Camping for me too

I haven't decided yet whether I like camping or not. Having lots of new things to look at and being outside all day is very nice. Being new to walking I did get real dirty real quick, which wasn't too bad. Mommy seemed to keep me strapped in my high chair longer than usual though... not sure if that is related. The best thing about camping is spending all day with my family.

Camping!

Of course I did a lot more than pee on leaves. I got to sleep in a tent on a blow up bed. I swam in a lake and played in the sand. I saw fish, frogs, snakes, birds, spiders, mosquitoes, and lots of other bugs. I ate my body weight in marshmallows. My favorite thing was making new friends. Alex is much older than me, but he showed me his gun and fought me with my light sabers. Nicole is 4 and wonderful. We told each other stories, shared our snacks, looked for bear tracks, and just had lots and lots of fun.

No!

Just working on my new word. Guess I've heard that one a lot.

Outdoor fun

Snakes and Super Soakers in my own backyard! I can't wait to see what I get to do when we go camping tomorrow.

Year in review

I'm starting to get used to my new people status, being a toddler and all. I've learned a lot of new things over the past few months and thought I'd remind you of my major accomplishments. Top of the list is learning to walk on my own. Why crawl, scraping up my knees, when I can now walk wherever I want. I love to speed-walk directly to the stairs and climb up as fast as I can.

At my last doctor's appointment I weighed in at 22 pounds 4 ounces and was 29.5 inches long. This is completely average, 50 %tile, but that is ok with me. I like my 12 month clothes. I sleep from 9 pm to 7 am most nights, but my napping needs are still unpredictable. I have turned into an eating machine, regularly eating more than Cole. And, I am done with the bottle.

I haven't officially said my first word yet, but I am really good at mimicking. Mama is my favorite sound to say back, so it just might be my first word. I haven't decided yet. I know how to wave bye-bye. I can also have long conversations with Cole that consist only of screeching and squealing.

Here's me practicing my "mama".

My favorite things are mommy, mac-n-cheese, remote controls, chasing Abby, stairs, my playroom, doing whatever Cole is doing.

My least favorite things are being away from mommy, not getting to do what I want, breathing machines, and the computer room.

All in all, it is good to be 1!

Guess what?

Pee-pee dance or flying on a really small broomstick?
A broomstick of course!

Star wars fan?

I got light sabers for my birthday and I sound like Darth Vader when I breathe. Hmmm... Seriously though, three bouts of bronchiolitis in four months is a bit much. At least I try to time my Urgent Care visits to late Friday nights so that mommy will have something fun to do. I'm too young to be diagnosed with asthma but that hasn't stopped my doctor from giving me a daily inhaler. Now mommy and daddy just have to decide if they are going to make me use it or not.

Bye-bye

I had a great visit Nana and Grandfather. I hope the next time you are here we have art festivals, birthday parties, and trail mix.

Presents!

Not for me, for Luke! But I'm sure he won't mind sharing. I helped Luke out a lot today. I decorated his cupcakes, I sang him happy birthday, I opened his cards and presents, and I showed him how to use his new toys.

Thanks especially to Ali and Dan for giving me, I mean Luke, the Star Wars Light Sabers. I will teach Luke how to use them once he is bigger like me. I am now fighting anyone and anything that gets in my way. Mommy and Daddy say they will be sending you a bill for damages soon.

My first Birthday Party

I've officially arrived. Today I had a big party to celebrate being one. Mommy, Daddy, Cole, Nana, Grandfather, Grandma, and Grandpa all were there to share my cupcakes and give me presents. It was awesome. I gave them all smiles (and a few cries) and showed them how good I am at walking.

Here we are sitting down for my birthday lunch. Cole helped me open all my presents. He even offered to try them all out, which was nice... I guess.

Look out!

Here comes the Spiderman! (eating a corn dog)

Happy Birthday to Me!

Even though I'm waiting until Saturday for my birthday party and presents, mommy still made sure that I got to eat some birthday cake today. I'm so special I get two birthday celebrations!
