Fire!

Yesterday I went to home depot with daddy. We got all the supplies we needed to make a fire pit. We all helped carry the bricks and put it together. Now I can roast marshmallows every night. Yum!

Touch a Truck

Touch-a-Truck day is exactly what it sounds like! The trucks were big and awesome. I wish someone would have given me the keys!

Stinky!

Look! A truck with wheels bigger than Luke!

Most of the trucks had two steering wheels. Perfect for me and Luke.

 Lift us up!

Preschooler perks

Now that I'm officially a preschooler and Cole is officially not home because Kindergarten is every day, I get to go to the Metro Park Preschool Programs with mommy all by myself! I am so big. Today we learned about butterflies. I practiced my new word: antenna. I made a butterfly craft. I got a butterfly net and tried to catch butterflies. Mommy caught me a moth, but neither of us was fast enough to get a butterfly. It was still hard to sit still through all the talking stuff and book. I may be in preschool, but I haven't changed all that much yet.

Changes

Change is exciting, but sometimes hard. It took me a few weeks to get used to not being in school. Now I have to get used to being back in school. New schedules are hard. They make me cranky, tired, whiny, frustrated, and more tired. I'll be needing some extra thumb sucking and early bed times for the next few weeks. But its worth it, because Kindergarten is soooo much fun! (Or at least riding the bus is crazy awesome.)

Mad scientist

Today was my turn to do the Mentos explosion experiment!

Kindergarten!!!!

That's right! Today was my first day of Kindergarten. I am so old and so big that I get to ride the school bus all by myself. Well, not really all by myself. Lots of my neighbor friends are on the bus too. The school bus is awesome!

Had to show you my cool backpack.

Here's me and Rachel. We're both starting Kindergarten.

Getting on the bus!

I got to sit next to my good friend Nicholas!

Preschool

Today was my first day at my new school, Ready Set Grow. I'm in Preschool now because I am such a big kid. I have my own cubby for my stuff and a cot for my nap. I ate snacks and lunch. I also spent the day visiting all over the school. My new teachers are Miss Bonnie and Miss Jen. Every 45 minutes we get to do a different activity in a different place in the school. My new routine is morning snack in my home room, then outside time, music room, math room, language room, art room, lunch, nap, science room, home room. Whew! I was in the green all day, which means I had very good behavior. Miss Jen even told my mom that I was a very good helper and cleaned up after only being asked once. I like being a helper.

Olympics recap

Every night for two weeks mom let us stay up late to watch Olympics and (sometimes) eat popcorn. Cole loved the beach volleyball, pole vault, all swimming, diving, gymnastics, high jump, long jump, shooting, and running. I liked yelling "gold medal!" and eating popcorn.

We have both agreed that we will be as fast as Usain Bolt when we grow up.

Thanks Nana

We had a great time visiting with Nana. We took her to lots of our favorite places, like the library, my school, and the video store. She taught us how to play games on her Nintendo DS and to play golf. Come back soon!

Kindergarten preview

Kindergarten starts in one week! I took Nana to see my new school and the awesome playground. She was very impressed.

I'm so ready for recess. I made like 10 baskets!

Culture

Nana and mommy took us to an art museum. At the art museum you are not supposed to touch the art. That was a hard rule to learn. Thankfully they had a few kid activities too.

Butterflies at the park

We'd never miss our yearly tradition.

Halloween in the Summer

You know what would make summertime even better? Halloween! Mom wouldn't let us put up decorations in front of the house, so we had to settle for making a spooky spot in the basement. Its even spookier with flashlights in the dark. We love spooky!

Miss you Dex

Where did Dexter and Ali go? I talk about them all the time. Why isn't it visiting time all the time? I miss you guys!

Remember my swing? (and how hard it was for me to share it?)

Remember going to the metro park program where we made cloud art projects?

And I peed on the bushes?

Remember how we ate lots of yummy treats, like gummies, popsicles, McDonald's, and pancakes.

Remember how we all slept together in the playroom?

Ahhh the memories.

5 year check up

After weeks of excitement and anticipation, I finally saw the doctor for my 5 year checkup. I am totally healthy of course. My height (41 inches) and weight (40 pounds) are completely average. My spine is straight, my ears are clear, and my reflexes are normal. The visit concluded with.... bum, bum, bummmmmm... 4 shots! I was mentally prepared. I had rehearsed how I would react to them. I was curious to see how pokey and sharp the needles were. It was not like I thought it would be. I was totally brave for the first two, but I couldn't keep it up. Number 3 and 4 made me howl and cry. Four is just too many! Thankfully a trip to the ice cream store took my mind off the pain.
