Grandfather visit

My grandfather drove all the way from Florida just to visit me. I made sure to take him to the park, I talked his ear off with all my new words, I even acted out my newest animals: Hippo, Parrot, and Butterfly. In return he let me sit on his lap and share his breakfast banana. Turns out we both like oatmeal and bananas for breakfast! It must be in our genes.

Park

Lately when we've gone to the park by our house we have taken lots of long hikes that allow me to practice the words tree and flower and that make me very sleepy. Yesterday mom and dad let me play on the playground and it was awesome! It really is much more enjoyable now that I can walk. I couldn't believe it when they wanted to go home for dinner. Even my tears and screaming wouldn't change their minds.

Slide

I mentioned before that one of my new favorite words is Slide. This is because I get to play on a slide every day at school. I like the big ones at the park that mom and dad take me to. But, this one I get to use every day. And when I want to use the slide the conversation goes something like this.

Cole: Slide? Slide? (pointing to slide)

Cole: Up. Up. (climbing up the stairs)

Cole: Whee! (Sitting at the top of the slide)

Cole: (after landing) Slide? Slide? (can I go again?)

Yum or yuck?

Today I begged and begged daddy to let me try his spicy potato chips.
At first I wasn't sure whether they were yummy or not.

Hot! Hot!

More please!

Words

I have tons of words now. My recent favorites are nana (aka banana), slide, all done, shoes, socks, stinky, bird, puppy, doggy, car, Omi (aka Naomi at school), diaper, book, nose (with pointing to nose), toes, and eye. I also like to say dee over and over which means "I'm coming to get you" or "I am about to fall on you." Another helpful phrase that I just learned is nite-nite. All I have to say is nite-nite and walk to the stairs when I get tired and mommy will put me in bed. That is soooo much easier than being whiny and crabby. Turns out words aren't just fun, they are also useful.

TV

I used to think that noisy flashy box was just for mom and dad. Turns out that some of those shows are actually interesting! I highly recommend Super Why on PBS. Go Super Readers!

Home improvement

Daddy has taught me the value of working on your home. I think new carpeting would be nice. About how big do you think the living room is?

Zoo day

Thursday I took Grandma and Grandpa to the zoo! I showed them all the different kitties, or as mom and dad were calling them lions, elephants, monkeys, birds and bears. My favorite things in the zoo are babies, rocks, and the stairs by the big fish tank. They were perfect for jumping on.

Fun with Ali

Yesterday mommy and I went to visit Aunt Ali. She is sooooo much fun. She helped me slide down the slide on her playground, she took us out to lunch, she helped me pet her cat, and she let me sit on her dog.
To see me and her dog Ophelia you can read her blog (http://allisonkarrels.blogspot.com/2008/09/coles-visit.html). I'm all over the internet!

New view

Who knew my car seat could be turned around?! I've spent a year enjoying the view out the back window and I don't know if I like this change. Now mom can watch my every move!

How can a baby get a little private time?

Fancy toys

I'm so spoiled. Mom and dad spend lots of money getting me the most expensive toys out there!

Juice!

Tonight I got to eat moo goo gai pan (very tasty) and.... grape juice! I knew there had to be something out there to drink besides milk and water. Why did mommy wait so long to share this with me?!? I think the juice gave me superpowers. After chugging a glass I was able to climb on top of the coffee table without any help. I wonder what amazing feats the grape juice will help me accomplish tomorrow?
