Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

One of the best things we saw this summer in Washington DC was the fanciest Catholic Church I've ever seen. This church honors Mary and has all kinds of statues and pictures of her. I think we'd have to go back a few more times to see everything.

This was our favorite chapel, Our Lady of Lebanon.

And... we met Pope Francis! Just kidding. It was a card board cutout.

Ford's Theater

After seeing where Lincoln lived, we saw where Lincoln died. Ali took us to Ford's Theater. This is where Lincoln was shot while watching a play. The bad guy was John Wilkes Booth who was actually an actor at that theater. We took a tour of the museum and saw a two-man play about that night in the theater.

We all took the audio tour.

The Lincoln Cottage

This summer we learned a lot about Abraham Lincoln when we visited Ali in Washington DC. We went to the Lincoln Cottage. This was where Abraham Lincoln and his family lived. Did you know that Lincoln would ride his horse to the White House every morning?

Here it is. It's not very big and we couldn't take any pictures inside.

Outside were a lot of cannons and a gazebo.

Lincoln was a pretty tall guy!

Ice Cream Factory

Did you know we live near the Velvet ice cream factory? It is the only one in the world and they make super yummy ice cream. Dexter, Cole, and I took a tour and explored this tasty place.

Chris Spielman football camp

This summer I went to a two day football camp with the great Chris Spielman! I learned a lot and my team won the camp championship game!!
