Monkey see, monkey do

Sometimes I like to copy my big brother Cole. He seems to love superhero costumes so I thought I would try it out. I haven't got my poses down yet, but give me a little time and I'll figure it out.

Trim the tree

I am a very good Christmas tree decorator. I can untangle the lights, put all the branches on the tree, and of course hang the ornaments. Daddy even helped me put the star on top.

Turkey day

Thanksgiving means spending lots of time on Grandma's couch.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is about driving to Cleveland, playing with Grandma and Grandpa, eating lots of turkey and cranberry jelly, and seeing lots and lots of cousins. I even got to meet my new second cousin once removed, also known as baby Ryan. I liked holding him and he liked giving me kisses.

Smart shopper

On my special days off from school I like to help mommy with the grocery shopping. Sometimes it is hard to stay with the cart. Today I made sure to hide where I knew mommy would find me. She can't pass up a sale on Diet Coke.

Lethargic wheezing

Its been a long time since I've been sick. Today my weeks of a mild cold turned into fever and wheezing. I took a four hour nap and I was still tired. Good thing there's lots to watch on tv. I must be sick if I spent an hour watching the Food Network without complaining.

Luke: I sick. I fever. I go doctor. I medicine.

More decorations!!!

Halloween is over and that is sad. But Christmas is pretty good too. People in my neighborhood have already put up their lights, so I convinced dad to do our house this weekend. I helped of course.

New playroom

Did you know that we have a basement? It used to be a dark messy place, filled with boxes and papers. Now I want it to be my new playroom. I can even ride my bike down there when it is cold and rainy outside!

Gymnastics!

Gymnastics is my fourth sport, after swimming, t-ball, and football. I love it! Sometimes I take gymnastics classes at my Pre-K school and sometimes I go to the gymnastics place. I love it there because they have all kinds of fun things to play on. And I love my coach, Coach Kenny.
I've done the balance beam, the high bar, and the rings, but my favorite is the trampoline.

And here's my back flip!

My chores

I like having chores. Every morning that mommy or I remember, I give Abby her food. I even pick up all the pieces that I drop. This used to be Cole's chore, but I'm lobbying hard to take over.

Friends

I just had two days with Nina and her family! She is very good at playing with an iPad. We shared my new toy and my old toys. She even played superheros with me. What a great friend.

Favorite toys

If you know me at all then you know that my favorite toys are costumes. I want them all. Thanks to some good Halloween sales, I recently added Darth Vader to my collection. My first bad guy! Typically I do 2-5 costume changes a day. It really is my thing.

Naturalist

Everyone in my family likes to walk in the woods, including me. It is especially nice to walk on the crunchy leaves.
Why is mom always taking our picture?
Did you hear that? Monsters?
I didn't see any deer or snakes or turkeys on our walk, but I did see a turtle in the nature center.

Preschool classes

I go to my pre-K school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday I stay home with mommy and she makes sure I get some more schooling. Sometimes we go to story time at the library. And sometimes we go to preschool classes at the metro parks. Both are fun. Today I learned a lot about turkeys. They are both cute and yummy.

My awesome turkey craft.

Leaves, leaves, leaves

Leaves are fun. Who knew? Well, I do now.

Especially when you take a running start.

Superbowl

I made it through 7 weeks of flag football. I learned to pull flags, run with the ball, hike the football, and play with my mouthpiece. Go Steelers!

Boots!

Even wearing my new super-cool giant light-up Spiderman boots, I can't get the darn missiles to launch.

One more thing

Did I forget to tell you that I helped mom, dad, and nana carve pumpkins? Well I did!

Nana all gone

My nana was here for a long time. She stayed home with me, changed my diapers, read me stories, helped me take my naps, played hide-and-seek with me, and gave me lots of hugs and kisses. I'm sad that she is gone.

Luke: Nana? Nana go? (sad voice)
Mom: Yep, Nana had to go home.
Luke: Soon? Nana soon?
Mom: Yes, she'll be back soon.
Luke: OK! (happy now)

The best night of the year

My beliefs have been confirmed. Halloween is the greatest holiday. It seemed like it took forever for trick-or-treating to start. Waiting is so hard. I was the best Superman in the neighborhood. When it got cold I wore my coat pretending I was Clark Kent, and I ripped it open at every house! I stayed out for as long as I could. I visited every spooky decorated house that I've been watching closely over the past month. In the end my pumpkin bucket was so heavy, mommy had to carry it for me.

My neighborhood is so much fun. All my friends looked good in their costumes.

Here's me with the spooky doll. I've seen him every year!

Trick-or-Treating

What did you have for dinner last night? I had candy! Cole is right, Halloween is awesome. I dressed up as a scary dragon, I went to all my neighbor's doors and they game me candy, and I gave candy to lots of kids who came to my house. I wasn't scared at all. Well, except when I saw an older boy dressed up like a zombie. He was way too big and bloody.
