Swim lessons

After two weeks of swim lessons, I am definitely ready for our beach vacation. I can move my arms, kick my legs, and go underwater easily. I don't always get very far, but I'm working on it. Luke hasn't gone all the way under yet. I keep showing him how, but he is not learning. I wonder if he'll get his tadpole certificate too?

Summertime Cousin-time

We finally made a trip to visit my favorite cousins that I couldn't remember I had. Hey, I'm only 3! We are all very smart and very good looking. We can all fit at one picnic table. And we all agree that shooting moms and dads with water guns is the best kind of water play.

Medal winner

My second t-ball season ended this week. I loved being a Blue Indian and I loved hitting the ball.

Team picture day.

And here's all of us, lined up to get our medals after the last game.

Movie trip

Today I got a late birthday present... a trip to the movie theater! Now that I am 3, mom and dad said I am old enough to go. We saw Madagascar 3. It was fun and the popcorn was yummy. It was hard to sit still and be quiet. Maybe I'll be better with that next time.

Here we are dancing to the music at the end of the movie!

Beware....

The Headless Horseman doesn't always wait for Halloween!

Gardening

Carrots and beans need lots of water. Why can't we have a garden like this at our house?

Happy Father's Day

I clearly know daddy much better than Luke does.

Like father, like son

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

More parks please

Really! I can't get enough. Thank goodness there are so many parks, playgrounds, trails, creeks, trees, and farms in Ohio. I wonder if we will see them all this summer.

Facebashing

Its not easy being run over by a dog. Nothing a few popsicles can't fix.

Icky critters

My favorite thing about creeking is throwing rocks in the water. But creeking is also about trying to catch critters. I like salamanders and shells. Snakes? Bugs? Crawfish? Hmm. I'm not too sure about those. I can't figure out if they're scary or cool. My first thought is scary and mommy seems to agree with me. Cole and daddy think they're cool, so maybe I do too. Its a tough decision.

Still learning

School may be out, but mom and dad say that I still have to keep learning. So I guess I'll be getting smarter by going to lots of metro park programs, joining the library summer reading program, taking swimming lessons, playing t-ball, and going to two weeks of Safety Town camp. Whew! Thank goodness I still have lots of time left to play in the pool and watch Scooby Doo!

Bye-bye school

Leaving school is sad. I didn't feel sad, but mommy and Terry kept saying they were going to cry. I will miss outside time, riding bikes, me-sized potties, and playing with my friends. I will miss my teachers most of all. Terry is the best!

Last doughnut Friday

A year-long tradition has come to an end. No more doughnuts on Friday mornings for me and Luke. Mom says that we won't be going to the coffee store because we don't go to school on Fridays anymore. We don't go to school on any days anymore! Woo hoo! School's out for summer! I guess I'll trade doughnuts for summertime.  Or maybe mom can just make a special trip to get me a doughnut. Hmm....

Here's me an my teacher Miss Shelly on my last day. I'll miss her and all my friends.

Even Luke says he'll miss visiting my school all the time.

Three year check-up

Yesterday I had my doctor check-up. I'm still perfectly fabulous, perfectly healthy and perfectly average. My height and weight are both in the 50th percentile at 37 inches and 31 pounds. The doctor and mommy had nothing but good things to say about me. I did get a finger prick and one shot. I super strong, so I didn't need to cry.

See how strong I am?

My current favorite things are swinging on my swing, playing in the sandbox, and eating gum. My favorite toy is any stick that I can use as a magic wand (like Harry Potter), a cane (like Willy Wonka), and a broom stick (like the green witch from Wizard of Oz). I pretend I'm Batman or Superman, but I don't usually dress up like Cole. I love to read Clifford books. I'm a good eater, but I prefer doughnut Fridays and pancake Sundays. I sleep in Mommy and Daddy's bed every night now. Why would I want to be alone when I could snuggle with them. Their bed is so much better. I'm half-way potty trained. Someday soon I'll have to poop in the potty, but I'm going to hold out on that one as long as possible. I'm very good about brushing my teeth. I tend to be clumsy and I like to jump off of things, so I get a lot of boo boos. I've literally walked into a wall a few times.

My favorite friends are Cole, my teacher Terry, and my neighbor Rachel; and mommy, daddy, and grandma, of course. I like to play with them and sometimes I don't. I have my own ideas. Sometimes I'm grouchy. Especially in the mornings on the way to school. If Cole tries to talk to me, I yell "Don't talk to me! I grouchy!" That pretty much works. I don't like to be told what to do. If you yell at me I'll either keep doing what I'm doing with more attitude or cry and say "You hurt my feelings! You yelled at me!" I'm also very set in my ways. I don't like to change my routines and I'll let you know it.

Here's my grouchy face.

So, sometimes I'm grouchy and sometimes I have attitude. But most of the time I'm happy and very sweet. I love to snuggle on the couch. I like to dance and jump. I make playdough dinners for everyone and let Abby lick real food off my fingers. I am very good about saying thank you. I've even been known to spontaneously say "Mommy/Daddy, thank you for making me dinner." I always need to give and get a ton of hugs and kisses and I love yous every day.

Two-face

I've figured out another way to get money. Be a villain! Two-face loves to rob banks. I think I'll pretend to be him for a while. Mommy and Daddy are now hiding their wallets.

Luke's birthday

I should be a party planner. I loved helping mommy pick out decorations for Luke's party. At first I thought he was crazy mixing Yo Gabba Gabba and Mickey Mouse, but it worked out alright. I made sure to print pictures off the computer of Mickey and Donald and hang them up around the house. I hung streamers and helped pick up the cake. Here's me helping to decorate the house. I decorated Luke's favorite chair at the kitchen table with streamers, so he would know it was his birthday chair.

I wanted Luke to have tons of presents to open so I wrapped lots of our toys that I knew he would like. I also got him his favorite video, The Haunted Pumpkin of Sleepy Hollow. Now he doesn't have to rent it from the video store.

I didn't want to bug mom for a piece of bubble gum while Luke was opening up his presents, so I helped myself. I don't know why mom and dad put the candy up so high.

Luke didn't like sharing his presents with me, even when I tried asking instead of just grabbing them. But he did share his bubble wrap!

I'm 3!

Yes I am!! Happy birthday to me! Having a birthday means cake, presents, grandma and grandpa, decorations, friends, cards, and more cake. At my request I had a Yo Gabba Gabba - Mickey Mouse birthday party. Mommy and Cole decorated our house. I got balloons, streamers, and life size pictures of the Gabba gang. My birthday started with a terrific present... a sandbox! The only thing that could have possibly topped that came later that day... a big kid swing! I played all day long with my family, friends, and presents. I wore my new Muno backpack and watched The Wizard of Oz. I skipped my nap and wasn't the least bit crabby. It was the best day ever and I wish it never had to end.

My crabby sandbox! Could I look happier? I think not.

Mmmmm, my cake! I sat at the table for 15 minutes working my way through two pieces.

The mailman brought my new swing just in time! Bye-bye baby bucket swing!

I partied it up with the neighbor kids!

Grandma and Grandpa! Thanks for coming to my party and getting me presents and pushing me in my new swing!

Here's me talking with mommy about my party.
