Preschool report

I get report cards too. Miss Jen and Miss Bonnie met with mommy to tell her all about how great I am. They asked me lots of questions on different days and got some interesting answers from me. So here's all the details.

Language and Listening: I know lots of words, I can talk in long sentences, I like to listen to stories, and I can pretend to read a book. I can't recognize my whole printed name. I also forgot the names of lots of my letters when they were asking me.
Motor skills: I'm good at throwing balls, jumping and hopping, squeezing play doh, and holding my pencil. I'm not so good with scissors and I need to get a stronger grip.
Math and Cognitive Skills: I know my colors, can sort and count objects, and complete puzzles. I'm not so good at remembering my last name, remembering what a triangle is, or drawing people with bodies (aren't heads and limbs the most important parts?).
Music and Art: I love to sing, repeat rhythms and do art projects.
Science: I love experiments. I know my body parts and can tell you about different kinds of weather.
Social and Emotional Development: I play well with others, I like to help my friends and play pretend. I have a little bit of trouble figuring out which of my friends are boys and which are girls. My best friends at school are Maddie and Sophia, so I guess they are boys right?

Mommy said she was so proud of how smart I am and how good I am at school. Then she said we need to get to work! Everyday now she asks me my name and I always get it right. She's also remembering to quiz me on my alphabet more often. I don't mind, especially when I get to make my letters out of marshmallows.

First report card

I am a super learner, great at math and reading and spelling. Now I've got a report card to prove it. Mommy already explained grades to me because I ask lots of questions while I watch her grade papers. I wanted to get all As, but I guess they don't use those letters in Kindergarten. So here's the breakdown. Emerging is the lowest grade, Transitioning is average, Achieving is above average, and Extending is exceeding expectations.

Math: My best scores. I am Achieving or Extending with counting objects, counting forward and backwards, and writing numbers.
Reading: I'm Extending on my alphabet and letter sounds and Achieving on phonics, vocabulary, and reading strategies.
Writing: I'm Transitioning on handwriting, spelling, and developing ideas. Maybe I should bring Mr. Thomas some of the books I've written. I always have writing ideas!

I also got all check marks for my behavior. No minuses. Mommy and daddy are so proud that I have learned to close my mouth and open my ears when I'm at school. Some days I love school and other days I really, really love school. I was so excited to get back to work after the Thanksgiving weekend that I had to write my teacher a note. I wrote "Mr. T you are awsum."

I brought this home today. It reads, I am thankful for the President of the USA because he is nice to the country.

Bleh

I loved Thanksgiving too.... but then mom and I got the stomach flu. I had lots of fun during the holiday weekend, but I spent my nights throwing up. Lucky for me I was so sleepy that I don't even remember most of it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is all about spending time with my family in Cleveland. Grandma and Grandpa cooked us a huge Thanksgiving feast. Everything looked so good, but I just had to revert to my standards rolls and cranberry jelly combination. Maybe next year I'll try the turkey and stuffing. Then we had dessert at Uncle Dave's with all my cousins. I love dessert and family!

Here's grandpa after our yummy meal.

Me and Joey hanging out.

Me and baby Ryan fell asleep at the party!

Monopoly

Its my new favorite game in the whole world. I get to play with money, buy things, take mommy's money, and practice math. I won the very first game we played, mom has won the rest. It makes me pretty frustrated but I know I'll win again if we just keep playing. And I'll play as many times a day as I can!

Bring me my pail

After throwing up twice last night all over me and mommy, I got tired of having to take baths and change my sheets. I made sure to get it all in my bucket the next 5 times. I also make sure to tell mommy that I am good at throwing up. I am so proud of myself. Its been 24 hours since I could drink or eat anything. Now I'm too tired to even watch a show.

Smile for the camera!

Bullies

Bullies are bad. I've always known about bullies, like Joker and Lex Luthor. I'm only in Kindergarten, but I've already run into some real bullies. The big boys I share a seat with on the bus are mean to me. I finally remembered to tell mom and dad. Mom helped me write a note to Mr. Vladimir, the bus driver. Mom and dad pretended to be the bullies so I could practice yelling "Don't hit me!" really loud. I'm totally ready to take them on now.

Christmas lights

After badgering daddy all weekend long to put up Christmas lights he finally caved. Its been a whole week since we took down the Halloween decorations and the house looked so boring! Of course I'm happy to help, especially if it means I get to climb up the ladder.

Young Love

Of all my girlfriends, I like Rachel the best. Maddie and Sophia are my school girlfriends. They are nice to hug and talk to. Rachel is my neighbor girlfriend. She is 5 and always has great ideas. We ride bikes, play hide and seek, pretend to be kitty cats, color with sidewalk chalk, bounce in the bouncy house, eat snacks, and dance together. She is wonderful.

Yesterday while they were riding bikes...
Luke (with a huge smile on his face): I love you Rachel.
Rachel (with a confused look on her face): Um... I don't like you that much.
Luke (with a huge smile on his face): ok.

Smile!

Luke's teacher asked him to bring in a picture of me and him. How easy is it to get a good picture of us? No so easy. We are still cute anyway, in my opinion.

Eye check up

Today I had my checkup with the eye doctor. I had excellent listening ears during my two hour exam. I've got a new bouncy ball to prove it. The doctor was so impressed that I can recognize my letters. Or at least I can when they are big. The little ones are way too hard. Yet again I was told that my eyes don't see as good as they should. My left eye is worse than my right. However, my eyes have changed and might keep changing so she said we can wait to talk about glasses when I visit her again in 6 months. I said that I would like to wear glasses, then I'd be just like mommy!

Basketball camp

Sunday I started dribble camp! I got my own basketball and I saw lots of my friends from Kindergarten. I learned lots of different ways to dribble the ball. I also learned to yell "Triple Threat!" at the top of my lungs. Triple threat is shooting, dribbling, and passing. I am great at basketball.

Luke really wanted to play too, but he's too little!
