Persistence

I knew if I kept asking and asking that I would get a pet! And it was so easy. Dad just caught me a frog in the backyard. Then I spent a bunch of mom's money at the pet store to make him a nice home. My frog is named Ribbity and he eats little crickets. He was lonely so we caught another frog. So now he has a friend. Luke named him Fluffy. We also caught a snake. Dad said I could put him in the tank too, but then the snake would eat Ribbity. While it would be cool to watch a snake eat a frog, for now I'm sticking with Ribbity.

He likes to sit in the water.

Corn!

Our garden has everything! YUM!

Luke pics

Ha-ha! I stole mommy's camera!

Need a pet

I've decided that I need a pet. Yes, I know I have Abby, but I want my own little pet to take care of and love. I think maybe a parakeet, goldfish, or hamster. I'm not sure yet. I cried and whined for hours about it today. I know it made mommy and daddy mad, but they just don't understand how badly I want a pet. Finally I agreed to learn more about taking care of pets and visiting the pet store. I really hope they change their minds tomorrow. I don't know how long I'll be able to survive without a new little creature to care for.

Art Museum

What can we do on a rainy summer day? Go to the art museum! They had lots of art projects for us to do. We made pictures with tape, sculptures with twist ties, and doodles with pencil and paper. We also looked at pictures by good artists. I really liked the still life paintings by Picasso. I want to have my drawings in a frame hanging in a museum for people to see. Mommy says that to be really good I need to practice a lot, maybe even for years. I think I should be good enough when I'm 12.

Summer birthdays

I'm not the only one with a birthday in July. Happy birthday cousin Jason!

I think Dad and Genna had lots of fun at the pool party. I know Luke and I did!

I can do magic too

um... sort of.

Library summer

The library is always fun but in the summertime it is extra crazy fun. I've danced at concerts, played games, watched people launch model rockets, held a giant python, watched a science show, and helped do pirate magic. Oh yeah, and I've also read lots of books on superheroes, werewolves, rockets, and how to draw all kinds of things. I joined the Summer Reading Club and this week I officially finished all 12 hours of reading!

Twister!

Right hand, left foot? Who knows! I am rockin this game.

Cole's How To Video

I love to watch videos on tube that teach you how to do things. Things like beat video game levels, make batman costumes, do magic tricks, science experiments, draw pictures, make your own stickers.... the list goes on and on. So I decided to make one of my own. The disappearing button magic trick. It is a lot like the you tube video I watched when I learned how to do the trick, but this video is starring me!

Artist Cole

When I grow up I want to be an author and illustrator. That means I have to practice drawing a lot. Like every day, all the time. I'm willing to put in the time.

In case you missed it on Ali's blog, I've been writing about the adventures of my very own superhero named Spiker. When I'm not working on that, I'm drawing animals, dragons, crabs, spooky Halloween pictures, and even my own Lego maps.

Chef Luke

Grandpa Larry gave me a great birthday present. Money at Toys-R-Us! I used it to buy something I've been wanting for a really, really long time. An Easy Bake Ultimate Oven! Now instead of pretending to use one on the iPad, I can use the real one. The cookies and cupcakes are so yummy.

Third times the charm

Thursday we did science with Mommy. Saturday we did science with Mommy, Nicholas, and Luke W. Sunday we did science with Mommy, Max, and Corwin! Whew! That's a lot of science, but it was super fun every time!

We also went to a pool party with our cousins, had a sleep over, and played with all our toys. Yea!

Science/Spiderman Birthday party

For my birthday party this year I had a Spiderman birthday cake and decorations and we did lots of science experiments. My friends Nicholas and Luke W. came over to play and be scientists with Luke and me.

(By the way, I know I'm six, but I had a big number 5 plus one candle on my cake. Math is cool.)

We did 5 experiments, Color Changing Milk, Bubbling Lava Lamp, Floating "M's", Exploding Sandwich Bags, and Elephant's Toothpaste. They were all really fun, but the last one was definitely the best.

Waiting for the science to happen.

Here's the bubbling lava lamp.

 Floating "m's".

Elephant's Toothpaste makes a lot of foam!

Then my cousins Max and Corwin came over and we got to do it all again!

Thanks mom for a great birthday party!

I love my big brother and his birthday

Cole's birthday is just as great as my birthday. I helped mom shop for presents and decorations. I helped bake the birthday cake. I picked out a present: an animal stencil sheet. I picked out a card, put $3 in it, and wrote my name. I let Cole sit in the best seat at the kitchen table. I even decided to give his favorite activity a try. Legos! Today I built my first Lego set, the Lego Batman Catwoman Catcycle Chase. It wasn't even that hard to do. I will definitely try that again.

I am 6!!!

That's right! It's my birthday! I got to do exactly what I wanted. I ate all my favorites, pancakes for breakfast, peanut butter and jelly for lunch, and McDonald's for dinner. I did science experiments with mom. I had a birthday cake with candles and lots of presents!  I stayed in my pj's all day long building lego sets. Yep, that's everything.

Mom, Luke and I did tons of science experiments. We needed to make sure they worked before my party on Saturday.

I quickly finished the Lego Avengers Hulk Helicarrier. Now I'm tackling the White House. Thanks Ali!
