Rock Tumbler, Part 1

My love of all things Minecraft includes rocks and mining in the real world. Thanks to Grandfather giving me a rock tumbler, I'm polishing up some rocks I mined this summer at the Olentangy Indian Caverns. Its been running for a few weeks and the rocks are already looking great! I'll let you know when they're done.

Classroom reader

This week I brought my favorite book to school and read it to my class. The book is called A New Friend. It is funny and interesting and I can read the whole thing! My teacher was so impressed.

Old timey school

They have weird schools in St. Augustine. It doesn't look anything like the K1 at New Albany. They have a little wooden building, a bell to ring in the morning, a wishing well, and.... an out house!

Pirates, ahoy!

A pirate museum! Have you ever heard of such a thing?! St. Augustine's got one. We saw an original pirate flag, the oldest pirate treasure chest, tons of gold and treasure, and skeletons!

A cannon ball to the guts must of hurt!

Almost as exciting was a display on The Goonies!! Look! It's One-eyed Willy!

Argh!

Fort Matanzas

St. Augustine also has a smaller fort on an island. It protected the city from enemies coming up the river. We took a boat ride to see it. We also played by the river and went on a nature walk. It is a beautiful place.

The trees are pretty amazing!

Downtown St. Augustine

While we were visiting Nana and Grandfather we learned about the history of the town. There is a really cool fort called Castillo de San Marcos. It protected the people of St. Augustine from enemies coming from the north. We walked all around the stone walls, watched a soldier shoot a real cannon, and explored the rooms inside. I wonder what it was really like for the soldiers who lived there hundred of years ago.

We are totally going to hit that ship!

Look at us looking at the real cannon firing.

We are totally not pretending to poop in this cannon.

Look! I'm in a turret!

After walking around the fort and having dinner, we went to the main downtown area to see the beautiful Christmas lights.

Nana and Grandfather's house

After Christmas we went to visit Nana and Grandfather at their new house. It was so much fun! We played games, visited all kinds of cool forts and historic places, went in the pool and to the beach, and played mini golf. Dexter and Ali came down too. Best vacation ever!

I didn't care that the water was cold. When in Florida, go swimming!

What a cool neighborhood!

We three kings...

Grandfather, Mom, and I played some golf.

Check out the lizard Dad caught for me. He's biting my finger and it doesn't even hurt!

Christmas Joy

We had a super wonderful Christmas. I did a great job singing my solo at church on Christmas Eve. Mom and Dad were so proud of me.

I wasn't too sure that Santa would bring Luke and me presents this year. But he did! I guess we go onto the nice list! I got exactly what I hoped for: Madden 15 for Xbox, NFL football cards, and the geometry dash app. Woo hoo!

(I'm a little excited.)

Luke got lots of fun stuff too.
