Tadpole Cole

I graduated swim lessons just in time. We are going to the beach! I hope tadpoles can swim in the ocean. Its going to be a long drive to North Carolina but its worth it. Can't wait to see Grandma and Grandpa! I'll be back in a week.

Cole Logic

If you haven't heard, I don't like going to bed at night. How can I possibly sleep when there are so many things I want to do? So what's the solution? No more pj's! If I put on regular clothes instead of pj's then I am just taking a nap instead of going to bed. Pretty smart, huh? I've been on a pj boycott for weeks. It just makes sense.

Scary Luke

My favorite emotion to talk about used to be sad. I like to say "Luke sad," and then pretend to be sad and cry. Scary is my new favorite. I'm still working out the moves, but I'm getting there.

Arts & Crafts & Time Out

Arts and Crafts are too demanding. The glue stick looks like a popsicle but you can't eat it. Cole takes all the good stickers and decorations. And I guess hitting Cole and mommy on their heads when they make me mad is not allowed. I didn't like that art project anyway!

Thanks Dad

Thanks for catching bugs for us, playing baseball with us, sharing your pop and chips, setting up our pool, pushing us in the swings, play fighting (and losing), giving us money for our piggy banks, watching shows with us, chasing us around the house, cooking taco dinners, playing hide and seek, throwing us in the air, reading books for us, and giving us lots and lots of love. Happy Father's Day!

Professor Cole

Hi! Come on in. I'm just reading my APA Monitor. Are you trying to sign up for summer classes? Sorry, but I won't be teaching Intro to Psychology until Fall 2034.

No swim lessons

Is this where Cole's been going every morning?
What do you mean I can't go in the water?

Swim lessons

This week I started my first ever swim lessons! I already swim all the time in our pool in the backyard, but this is a little different. I have a teacher and its at the big neighborhood pool. It is the highlight of my day. I'm going to go for two weeks and then I'm going to the beach. I hope my new swimming skills will work in the ocean.

Funny bubbles

Aren't bubbles hilarious?!

Baseball practice

This morning I practiced baseball at the park with my friend Big Luke and his mommy and daddy. This afternoon I practiced baseball at my house with my cousin Joey. I'm glad he graduated from Ohio State and ate cake and played baseball with me.

At bed time:
Mom: Did you have a good time at the party today?
Cole: Yes. Joey is my favorite.

cupcakes

Nooo! Don't tell me that was the last cupcake! I was so busy smearing it on my face that I forgot to eat it.

Busy day!

Too much fun... can't keep eyes open...

Two year update

Today I had my two year check-up with Doctor Tyler. My measurements are perfectly average, as usual. I weigh 27.5 pounds and am 34.5 inches tall, both in the 50th %tile. I fit perfectly in my 2T clothes. I can jump with both feet off the ground, climb up and down, and dance in a circle. My lungs sound good (yea no asthma right now), my ears are dirty, and I have all my baby teeth. I'm good at eating with my fork and spoon and drinking from a cup with no lid. I like to talk about the potty and sit on the potty, but I have yet to use it. I am a good sleeper, I go to bed at 8 pm, get up at 7 am. I take a nap for an hour when I'm at school and for three hours when I'm at home.

Its still a bit hard to understand me, but I do have probably a hundred or so words in my vocabulary. I can say two and three word sentences. My favorite way of talking is repeating back the last few words I heard someone else say. The other day I even told mommy a story about something that happened to me at school. It went something like this, "Luke. Hurt. Knee. Ouchie. Outside. Ground. Walking. Fall. Boo boo."

I have lots of favorite things. Right now I really like being outside all the time. I love to run races. I can say "mark, set, go!" I love to color with crayons or sidewalk chalk. Mostly I draw pictures of the sun. I also like to blow bubbles and use the water guns even though they make me more mad than happy. My favorite show is Caillou and my favorite movie is How to Train Your Dragon. I like washing my hands in the bathroom at school and brushing my teeth every chance I get. I like tickling Cole and jumping on his bed with him.

I am also very good at demonstrating my terrible two-ness. I have a bit of a temper. I hate it when people (Cole) don't do what I want or take my stuff. I'm learning to say "No!" and even "I don't like that!" (It comes out sounding like "I nah nah nah!") but sometimes I can't help but smack the offender in the head. I hate time out, but sometimes I am so mad that I would rather sit there than say "I'm sorry" to anyone, even the dog. I'm also addicted to screaming and to mommy, and especially screaming when I can't have mommy. I don't think she should ever be more than 3 feet away from me.

So that's me right now. Healthy and happy... most of the time. Cross me at your own risk!

Strong man

Mommy and Daddy say that milk, chicken, green beans, and fruit make you strong. Chips, McDonald's, cupcakes, and candy make you weak.

Cole at dinner: "Mommy, I want to be weak."

Birthday Party

This weekend we had a birthday party and Grandma and Grandpa came down to celebrate with me. I had How to Train Your Dragon decorations, balloons, cupcakes, tacos, and lots of presents!

After hearing Cole sing Happy Birthday to me about a hundred times, I wasn't so scared any more.

Yummy! (And check out my dragon tatoo!)My favorite presents so far are my vacuum cleaner (thanks Grandma) and my Buzz Lightyear car (thanks Ali). I spend half my time playing with them and half my time telling Cole that they are MINE!

Birthday day

Its official. I'm two! I don't really feel any different yet, but that's ok. Mommy promised me a dragon birthday party on Saturday, so I wasn't really expecting much today. Well, I had a wonderful day! Here are some pictures to prove it.

Mommy and I skipped school and went to the big mall to play on the playground and eat pretzels. I also checked out their new fountain.

In the afternoon we got Cole and Daddy and went to big play fountain at the other mall. The water was a bit too much for me. Instead I sat with daddy on the stage.

At dinner time we decorated my birthday cupcakes. Then everyone scared me by putting lit candles in my face and singing "Happy Birthday" at me. I was not prepared for that!

Finally, I got to open just one present. (Supposedly I will have more at my dragon party.) Thanks for the cool tent, Nana and Grandfather!

Pool fail

How many pools do you think we will go through this summer? The first one made it three days.

Now what could we possibly do with an empty pool?
