Growing butterflies

Luke gave me a bunch of caterpillars for my birthday. First we watched them live in a jar and eat sticky food. Then they built cocoons and we moved them into a butterfly tent. Today the first butterfly came out! They are my new pets!

Terribleness

Today I set a record for most consecutive hours crying, screaming, and whining. Why don't Cole, mommy, and daddy know what I want, do it, and do it right now?!? I think the quickest way to get something is screaming for it and adding the word NOW or just taking it away from another person (Cole). I guess they all disagree. We'll see who wins this battle. I'm committed to my approach.

Highlight reel

Tonight, in 90 degree weather, my team the New Albany Yankees played two innings of big time t-ball against the New Albany Reds. We won, or they won, or we tied. Who knows. I played second base and hustled to get the ball, sometimes fighting my teammates for it. I had two at bats. First was a line drive to the first baseman and he tagged me out. Second was a bunt, I made it to first and thanks to my teammates I ended up scoring. Go Yankees!

End of the game huddle.

Here are some clips showing my second hit, scoring, and our after the game ritual.

Watching Cole

Watching Cole play baseball is so much fun. Wait? We were watching Cole? Hmm. Guess I missed that. I just like playing at the park and eating my fishies.

My best friend-cousin

It only took me a couple of minutes to decide that my cousin Max is a great bestest friend. He came to visit me this weekend, with his mommy, daddy, and little brother. We both love Star Wars, the Avengers, and Superheros. We had light saber battles, water gun battles, and glow stick battles. We like to eat gummy snacks and drink juice boxes. While he was here we played in the pool, I shared my toys, we slept in my bed, and we went to COSI.

Play time!

We agree that science is fun.

We also agree that carriages are boring.

Eyes

At my 2 year check up I failed my vision screening. So, today I made my first trip to the eye doctor. I got to look at lots of pictures, sit in the dark, play with trains, and get nasty eye drops. The nice doctor told me that my eyes are normal and healthy. Well, borderline normal for astigmatism and on my way to nearsightedness, but for now normal and healthy. Maybe mommy's right and I shouldn't stand so close to the tv.

Translation by Mommy

Just hanging out with mommy. She's my official translator.

T-ball! T-ball! T-ball!

Tonight I met my coach and the other kids on my t-ball team the Yankees. Then I played left center field and I had one at bat. It was really hard to stand in the field and wait for my turn but I did it. I hope we're ready for our first game on Thursday!

That's me, way out there.

Here are some videos of me fielding the ball and batting.

Superfriends

Never fear, kid superheros are here!

Four peas in a pod

I love my friends. Especially when they visit for days, share ice cream and spaghetti, and play in the pool with me.

Presents, presents, presents

Did I mention that I got a lot of presents for my birthday? Well I did. Mommy says I am a lucky boy and daddy says I'm spoiled. I say I'm Captain America!

Or maybe I'm a Transformer!

I've been practicing my fighting with Captain American and Captain Rex.
(And they like to sleep with me.)

Party time!

Attention everyone in my life! Today was my birthday party!!! I met lots of my friends at the park for my Star Wars party. It was super fun. I hope you are not too sad if you missed it.

Here's Big Luke, me, and Jack. I mean Darth Vader, Darth Vader and Darth Vader.

I had cake and presents.

And of course I had an after party with my friends from Cincinnati. I shared my pool and food with Nina and Ewan. They are good swimmers.

NOW!

Don't be fooled by how chilled out I look in this picture. I am one demanding little boy. I know what I want and don't get in my way. I recently learned the command "now" and I am using it. For example: Mommy, Dragon movie NOW! Mommy, juice box NOW! Mommy, outside NOW! Mommy, swimming suit NOW! Mommy, fork NOW!

Now is a wonderful word.

Dunes

I forgot to mention that there are lots and lots of sand dunes in North Carolina. One day on our vacation we went to a park full of them. We watched people fly kites and climbed up and down the dunes. We never found swings or slides though. So technically I don't think it was a park.

Look at me and daddy way up there!

4th of July

What is more American than parades, corn on the cob, fireworks, and sparklers? Hmmm not much.

Can you believe that this was our first time eating corn on the cob? Yum.
Here we are getting ready for the big fireworks show. I got a little bored half way through, but the finale was great.

Happy (Captain) America Day!

The 4th of July is about America, right? Is that Captain America? I sure hope so. He's my current favorite superhero and I'm getting really good at throwing my shield.

Even Captain America has to eat.

Beach vacation

Its official. I like vacation. Here is what my days were like. Wake up at 7:00, eat Grandma's zucchini bread, and watch tv. 9:00 wake up daddy, put on sunscreen and a swimsuit, and walk out to the beach. Play, play, play for the next few hours. 1:00 come inside, rinse off all the sand, eat lunch and fall asleep. 5:30 wake up (!!!) and eat dinner. Put on another swim suit and bug spray, and go play, play, play on the beach. 8:30 come inside, bath and bed. Whew! What a wonderful way to spend a day.

Beach week!

Woo hoo! The beach is AWESOME! I said our vacation would be fun and I was right. All of us, except for Abby, went to Grandpa and Grandma's beach house in North Carolina for a week. Every day I jumped and ran in the waves, dug in the sand, and chased crabs. I could have easily stayed for another week.

We took a few long walks on the beach. Under the pier was very cool.

Every day I played with Luke and I also made friends with other kids.

I didn't get a sunburn, but I did get lots of mosquito bites! Here was me after a night of running on the beach. Itchy!

Here's Dad holding a tiny ghost crab on his finger, but I picked plenty of them up too.
