Go Tribe

The Indians won their first game today. To celebrate I played with my baseball, practiced my umpire signs, and puked on my Indians shirt. Yea! It was so exciting that I fell asleep before I even had a chance to eat dinner.
SAFE!

Ouchie

Having two new teeth coming in at the same time sucks. I spent today moaning, drooling, puking, crying, and sleeping. Ok, I also squeezed in a little fun. But seriously, these teeth are ruining my sunny disposition.

Exercise

Pulling up to stand is hard work, but I am determined. Daddy let me practice on him tonight.

Socks

This morning I found daddy's sock stash! If mommy hadn't caught me I would have chewed and drooled all over them. Now that would be hours of yummy entertainment.

So sleepy

Right now my bedtime routine is dinner, bath, PJs, and snuggling on the couch. Good thing daddy is so comfy.

Finger Foods

I've been working hard learning how to feed myself. I'm really good with cheerios. Mommy gave me some yummy banana bites to work on. They are tricky, slippery suckers! I need to get good at this quickly because my two front teeth are coming in and I want to use them.

Easter bunny?

I thought bunnies were little?

Easter

This weekend I learned that Easter is about bunnies, baskets, dressing up for church, and showing off all my new tricks. Grandma, Grandpa, and my cousins were very impressed with my crawling skills. I also got lots of practice pulling myself up on Grandma's coffee table. She promised me that next year I will be able to eat what's in my Easter basket instead of the basket itself. I didn't mind, it was a yummy basket.

Mommies

Grace and I agreed that a mommy's lap is the best place to be.

Grace

This weekend I got to visit with my cousin Grace. She let me use her baby stuff when I was just born. That was so nice of her, considering that she hadn't even met me yet. I got to return everything this weekend. She needs it for her little brother who will be arriving soon! How exciting. Here's a picture of me in the bassinet. Its hard to believe that I used to sleep in that. I was so little.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Today was a very important day because, as mommy tells me, birthdays are very special. To celebrate mommy I wore my "I love mommy" shirt to school, I practiced my crawling and naked exercises, and I got to see daddy set a cake on fire. It was all very exciting. I hope I get to have my own birthday celebration some day.

Renaissance Man

That's me. I am both a musician and an artist.

Oh Danny Boy,

the pipes the pipes are callin'. From glen to glen, and down the mountainside.

Mamma's boy

I'll admit it, I love mommy. Don't get me wrong, I love daddy too. But for some reason lately I just can't seem to get enough of mommy. I feel bad and cry whenever she leaves me and I need her to give me hugs right away when she comes back. Daddy says I'm addicted to her. Uh oh, maybe I am.

Hats

One thing I have learned this winter is that I hate hats. Every morning mommy sticks one on my head and I can't stand it. Thankfully I know how to quickly take it off. So I am a little confused as to why I love my tupperware hat. It just makes me so happy!

In other news, today I finally figured out how to crawl on my hands and knees. I've been thinking about it for weeks but just couldn't make my legs do what I told them. Today they decided to cooperate. Mommy and my teachers got very excited this afternoon when they saw me in action. I've been practicing it a bit tonight, but I am still much faster at sliding across the floor with my army crawl.

Hobbies

Chewing on things is my main hobby. I don't care what it is, I will put it in my mouth. I spend hours every day on this. Sometimes I wonder if my interests will change once I get a few more teeth. Hmmm... Of course I also have other interests. A close second is bouncing up and down.

I'm 8 months old

Yea for me! I celebrated today by staying home sick from school. I got to play all day with daddy, which is fun because he is so silly. It has been a great month with lots of new experiences for me. I got visits from my grandma, grandpa Ron, and nana, I went to Dayton again to see Aunt Ali and Uncle Dan, and I went out to my first restaurant (not that I got to try the food). I'm very good at saying da-da, ma-ma, ra-ra, ba-ba, and my favorite "aaaat". I also have found that I like eating chicken and sweet potatoes, being able to sit up or lay down whenever I want, and crawling into the kitchen and to the stereo. On the flip side, I now know that I greatly dislike fevers, ear infections, and eye drops. Oh yeah, I also like being in charge of playing peek-a-boo! Here is a picture of me playing it with daddy. I sure am good at surprising him.

More sick days

Daddy loves me so much that he shared his cold with me. Now I have to stay home because fevers aren't allowed at school. So I spent the day on the couch with mommy. I was too tired to play with my toys but too cranky to sleep in my crib. I guess fevers make you want to snuggle, and we did... for 6 hours! I'm going to try to break that record tomorrow with daddy.

Still snowy

Piles of snow that are taller than mommy and daddy are cool!

Snow!

Today we got 20 inches of snow. Abby and daddy have been outside shoveling and playing all day. I'm still not too sure what to think. I do like feeling the snowflakes land on my face, but I don't think a snow bank makes for a good seat. Its too cold and wet!

Fun daddy

Daddy is so much fun to play with. He always comes up with new and exciting games. I like the "throw baby in the air" game, the "see who can make the loudest noises" game, the "avoid the diaper" game, and the "tip over the exersaucer" game (shown above).

Persuasion

Mommy says with my eyes, I can get away with anything.
Sounds good to me!

Sick day

Don't I look sick? HA! My plan worked. Today I got to stay home with daddy watching me in the morning and mommy in the afternoon. I got extra love and attention and yummy orange medicine to eat. I even got to go on another nice long walk outside. The only flaw in the plan is the eye drops. Hmmmm, next time I will plan on keeping my ear infections away from my eyes.

Double ear infections

Is that bad?

Actually, I had no idea I was sick. My ears have been a little itchy and this green goo keeps coming out of my eyes. But, other than that I feel great!

Sweet ride

Today I helped mommy and daddy pick out my new deluxe big-boy car seat. It is so big that it makes me look small!

Sunday activities

I know I was just complaining about the cold and being stuck in the house. Well, today was so much warmer that Mommy and I took a long walk around the neighborhood. I love riding in the stroller. Mommy and daddy also took me to the grocery store. I have always loved shopping, but it is even better now that I can ride in the cart.

In other news, I have recently mastered the skill of getting into a sitting position when I start on my belly. It is such a relief. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to be stuck on your tummy! Here is a short silent video of me in action.

And lastly, I don't think I've mentioned that one of my favorite activities is practicing sounds really, really loudly. Mostly I just say "ahh" at the top of my lungs, but I do throw in some da-das, ra-ra, and ba-bas. Today I decided to practice saying "at". I think I've got it down.

Winter weather

Mommy tells me that when I was first born it was warm and sunny and we took lots of walks outside. How am I supposed to remember that long ago? All I know is that it always seems to be very cold and snowy. I don't know if I'll ever get to play outside.
