Strep for all!

Tuesday mommy got sick, then Cole. Their doctor visits sounded so exciting. I wanted doctors and medicine too! So Wednesday, daddy and I got sick too. Now we all get to take yummy medicine.

A sore throat and sleepiness isn't so bad, says me.

Daddy doesn't agree.

Making Maple Syrup

This weekend the people at Slate Run Farm taught us how to make maple syrup.

1) Find yourself a sugar maple tree.
2) Put a spile in the trunk and let the sap drip into a bucket.
3) Boil off all the water in the sap until you are left with syrup.
4) Put on pancakes!

We got to see it all. First we hiked out to the sugar maple trees. Then we found a good one to tap. The sap tastes yummy coming right out of the tree!

Dad and I checked on some other nearby trees.

Near the farmhouse, we saw the big fire they use to boil off the water. Inside, we got to taste the maple sap, syrup, candy, and gingerbread.

After a cold afternoon at the farm, the warm car felt great!

Don't blink

Zoom!

Aren't I good at writing my name, and the letters D and H?

Candy, candy!

I thought Halloween was all about candy. Ha! Valentines' Day is almost as good. I got tons of candy from my friends at school during my two parties. I love having my own big bag with all kinds of treats to choose from.

I loved getting Valentine's cards in the mail from my grandma and nana, but my favorite Valentine card was from Emma. It was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle card that said I had turtle power. That sounds special right? I think I'm going to start watching that tv show. I love ninja turtles.

Bad door

Why did that door jump in front of me when I was running? Good thing I have a hard head.

My name

Of course I know my name. And of course I can spell it. L-U-K-E, K-E-U-L, L-K-E-U... all of those work, right? Mommy and my teachers think of all kinds of ways to get me to practice writing and spelling my name. Today I used play doh snakes.

Cupid

I'm going to Valentine's Day parties at Kindergarten and at K-wrap. I wrote cards for all my classmates. But only Emma O. is getting a card that says Be Mine. Cupid shot me with an arrow when I was looking at her. I hope she gives me a Valentine too.

Park classes

My park classes have started up again. I watched a puppet show about groundhogs and talked about traveling the country. My favorite thing about park classes is that mommy gets to take the class too.

Here's me petting a real groundhog. He is dead but don't be sad. I'm sure he died because he was really old.

Here's me drawing my face on my passport. I need it to travel around the world.

100 Days

Today was my 100th day of Kindergarten. To celebrate I made a t-shirt covered with 100 letters and wrote my numbers from 1 to 100.

To be honest, the first 60 or 70 days were great. Now Kindergarten is just ok. It seems like all work and no play, especially when the cold weather cancels recess. Maybe we should be counting the days until summer vacation.
