No fear

I'm not afraid of climbing rock walls, really tall slides, or jumping from great heights. I'm also not afraid of the green witch on Wizard of Oz, getting spankings, running into traffic, or of angry mommy and daddy. I'm not afraid of anything!

Well that's not totally true. I am afraid of spiders and bees and the little green men that live in the basement.

Woodpeckers

Woodpeckers are birds. They have big red heads, bang on trees with their beaks, and eat bugs. Thanks for filling me in metro park! At our preschool park program, the park ranger read us two books about woodpeckers, taught us a woodpecker song, and showed us how to make our own woodpecker hat. Sticking with the bird theme, I played with some wild turkey feathers and saw a few eating by the bird feeders.

Mommy took us on a walk an we saw a real woodpecker banging on a tree. Then I convinced Luke to bang on a tree with his fake woodpecker beak. He was a good baby woodpecker.

Balloon wars

Mommy's birthday is over but the balloons are still here. We have hit them, kicked them, popped them, hid under them, and pretended they were evil robots and fought them. Here's me watching tv with them.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

To celebrate mommy's birthday we decorated the house with tons of balloons, gave her beautiful flowers, sang her happy birthday, shared her ice cream cake, and let her take us to World of Bounce. We even made sure she went down the big slide with us a few times. I hope she had as much fun as we did!

Lego Batman

Lego Batman is not just a video game. They are also fun Lego toys that cost lots of money. Today I broke open my piggy bank and decided to spend half of my money on a small Lego kit. Catwoman Catcycle City Chase has Batman in a glider suit with two batarangs, Catwoman on her catcycle, and a traffic light and small street corner. I really wanted to buy the Batcave kit, which includes Lego Robin, but it was $70 and I didn't quite have enough. Anyway, I put together the whole thing all by myself. I just read the instructions and 15 minutes later I was done!

Warm sunny days, playing with neighborhood kids, blowing bubbles. Is it summertime yet?

Preschooler-ish

Today I went to my first preschool Metro Park Program. I learned about amphibians, which is an extraordinarily hard word to say. Basically frogs and salamanders. We saw a salamander eat a meal worm and made frog puppets. I said I was old enough to go to the program but it was kind of boring sometimes. I can't just sit and listen to someone talk or read a long book. Even my snacks weren't helping me sit still.

Afterwards we walked in the woods. This was lots of fun but it was so close to nap time that I was too tired to walk back to the car. I think preschoolers have more energy than me. The car ride home helped me recover and I made one last effort to be a big kid and skipped my nap. I had a few setbacks but overall I would say I am more a preschooler than a toddler.

Rocket man

Today I spent nap time at the park shooting off rockets! That is way better than a nap. I also walked in the muddy water with my shoes on, threw the biggest rocks I could find, and repeatedly scared mommy by walking close to the edge of the creek.

Mommy caught me describing the big boom.
I guess four hours in the sun did us in. I was out like a light an hour before bedtime!

Park! Park! Park!

Parks are for playgrounds and picnics. They are for nature centers, preschool programs, and walks in the woods. But that is not all, oh no that is not all. Parks are also for throwing rocks in creeks, fighting with sticks, shooting giant rockets, and digging mud holes. I love you park! And I love the first warm day of the year!

Irritated

My word for the week is irritated. I like to use it in a sentence. For example....

Monday conversation:
Cole: Mom, today during nap time I was irritated. I was shocked. I was shocked and irritated.
Mom: Why's that?
Cole: Lucy got to play with a coloring book and I didn't. It made me so irritated.

Tuesday conversation:
Cole: You know what makes me irritated?
Mom: What?
Cole: The letters C and S. They can both sound the same! That is irritating.

Contagious Tantrums

Today Cole and I enjoyed our home day by playing outside, coloring, reading books, watching our shows, and crying constantly when we didn't get our way. We fought and cried so hard and so loud that we all agreed we needed to lay down on the couch under blankets in order to pull ourselves together. Normally I am the one having the massive meltdowns. Maybe Cole caught my bad cold and my terrible twos.

I'm Irish

Mom says I'm a little bit Irish. So this weekend we decorated the kitchen with clovers and drank a Shamrock Shake! Yum!!

Lazy days

What can you do when its a cold, rainy weekend? Mom, said we had lazy days. We had pizza and popcorn with a movie. Went to library story time to hear about dinosaurs. Ate pancakes and stayed in our pj's all Sunday. And just read lots of books and played lots on the iPad. I like being lazy.
