Master of the Playground

You can call me toddler please. I am definitely NOT a baby anymore. Not only have I been walking for like 4 months now, but today I showed mommy how easily I can use the 2-5 year old playground at the park. It also helps that I have a big brother to show me what to do.

Day at the Movies

Do you know what you get to do when you are 3? Go to the movies! Mommy and daddy decided that I am grown up enough now to go to a real movie theater. So today I got to skip school and go with them to see Toy Story 3! It was really, really fun. I got to eat popcorn and drink lemonade. I hope we can go again tomorrow.

Smile?

Teeth, teeth, teeth. Argh! I am not a fan. Last week my bottom first molars started working their way out. Now my top canines are trying to do the same. I've had 8 teeth for a while now and those worked perfectly fine. I don't know why I need to have more. My mouth is red and sore and it is interfering with my ability to enjoy my morning waffle.

Sticks and rocks

I love to walk in the woods because it is full of sticks and rocks. Which do you like better? Rocks are good, but I get in trouble for throwing them. Sticks are the best because they can also be magic wands!

Big fun

Butterflies!

Every year I have seen the butterflies. Do you think they remember me?

Uh-oh

I forgot to tell you that I can also say "uh-oh". Here's some proof.

Words, words, words

I'd tell Cole and daddy to wait, but I haven't found the words yet. In fact, I still like to keep mommy guessing about whether I have said my first word or not. I do like to say "mama", "dada", and "no", pretty regularly. But I like to keep it random. I also love to read my farm books and grunt a deep "aaaaagh" at the sheep and "kuk coo" at the rooster. Its pretty clear to all that I know those words, but do they really count? In the meantime, my favorite form of verbal expression is screeching and squealing. I am so good at communicating that way, it seems silly to work so hard on the words. Plus, it is the only way anyone can hear me over my brother.

Not messin around

Have you heard that I like Harry Potter? I'm pretty serious about it. In fact, I have been practicing my Stomping Stick routine for days. It is from Harry Potter #4. Check it out.

In case you didn't recognize my moves, here's the movie.

My chair

I know I use my sippy cup to bang dents into the dining room table and the kitchen floor, but I don't think moving my chair in here will make anyone happy.

First photos

Thanks for the camera Ali. I've been taking pictures almost every day since my birthday. Sometimes averaging over 100 pictures a day! Below are some I took at my birthday party. I'm making plans for my first photography show. It will be titled, "Cole's Feet". I'll let you know when it opens.

A Happy Harry Potter Birthday Party

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!! Did you know that?!? I'm 3 years old now. I'm a big, big grown-up boy. To celebrate I had a Harry Potter party and invited all my friends. Taylor, Nina, Ewan, Ryan, and Jake came with their parents. Also Grandma, Grandpa, Todd, and Brent were here to play with me. Daddy put up my slip n slide, my pools, and all kinds of toys outside. It was a bit hard for me to wait until after lunch and play time for my cake, but I did it without crying. After all I'm 3 now.

Do I look like Harry?
We had Harry Potter balloons, decorations, glasses, tattoos, stickers, plates, cups, and a cake!
I helped sing Happy Birthday and blew out my three candles.

Thanks everyone for the presents. I got Play Doh toys, a rocket, bubbles, books, bugs, balloons, Buzz and Woody, Lego's, scissors, glue, crayons and markers, drum sticks, magna tiles, and a digital camera (thanks Ali!).

I got lots of amazing and fun presents for my birthday, but what I wanted most of all was a REAL Harry Potter wand. Thanks mom and dad! Look at me now!

Some of Cole's Party

Happy Birthday Cole! I love, love, love my big brother but I just couldn't stay awake for his party. I fell asleep 10 minutes before it started and woke up for the last 20 minutes. I hope you had a fun time!

First Bite

I made it 1 year, 1 month, and 1 week before getting my first bite. One of my little "friends" at school got me on my arm. I know Cole gets bit all the time by his "friend" at school. Now we can talk about how awful that is.

In other news, I'm rocking this shape sorter!

Water fountains!

It was a little scary at first with all the splashy water, but I quickly realized that water fountains are awesome!

Happy 4th of July

Parade what? Its not my fault they scheduled it for nap time. Don't worry I didn't sleep through the whole thing. What I saw was interesting. The fireworks were pretty good too. I did get a bit bored after about 5 minutes but the finale got my attention.

Happy Birthday America!

For America's birthday we got to go to a parade in the morning and fireworks at night. And just like last year, we went to my friend Luke's house to play and eat lunch. I love the 4th almost as much as I love Halloween. Parades and fireworks are awesome!

Other vacation activities

I didn't just "swim" in the ocean during our vacation. I did lots of other things too. Like...

Visit an aquarium.
Check out the shark cage. This was my favorite thing in the aquarium.

Go gators!

I watched Toy Story 2 over and over again with anyone who was willing to join me.

I fed the birds from the deck.

I walked and ran on the beach after dinner with Mommy, Daddy, Luke, Grandma and Grandpa.

I visited Grandpa Larry at his new house. He even let me help drive his new tractor.

I rode in the car for a very, very long time. Aside from a few short naps, I told everyone stories, sang songs, practiced screaming really loud, and played with Luke.

Ocean vacation

We just spent the last week having an ocean vacation with Grandma and Grandpa. This was my second trip to Nags Head but I can't really remember the last time. I was very prepared to swim all week long. I brought a swim vest and a float board. And I told mommy and daddy about how I wanted to swim with Nemo, Dori, Nemo's daddy, and Bruce the shark.

But... I changed my mind. The water was cold and salty and splashy in my face. That is too scary. Instead I spent the week playing in the holes daddy dug for me.

Here is my first little hole.

And here is my last big hole. Thanks daddy!

My first vacation

at the ocean! It was big and sandy and made me very sleepy.
