Columbus Zoo and Zoombezi Bay

To celebrate Cole's birthday, we went to the Columbus Zoo and Zoombezi Bay the day before. I think he had a good time, but I didn't see him much. Now that he is tall enough, all he did was ride on the fastest, scariest water-slides in the park. Dexter and I stayed with mom and had our own fun.

We spent part of the day in the zoo. We saw lions, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, eagles, beavers, and a wolverine. The coolest parts were feeding a giraffe and riding on a camel!!

We played in this airplane for a long time. Look what was sleeping on the wing!

We watched a show where all kinds of animals did tricks. I really liked the dog who could jump rope.

My 8th Birthday!

For my birthday this year I had my favorite breakfast, opened fabulous presents, and ate cake and ice cream. I didn't have an official party, instead I just walked around the neighborhood to see who wanted cake. Turns out everyone likes cake!!

Summer with Dexter

This summer Dexter came to stay with us for a few weeks. He got to live like a Johnston. Hope he liked our routine. Every morning we woke up, ate breakfast, did homework, and then mom made us spend the day outside. We showed him all of our favorite things in our town. I hope he liked it here so much that he comes to stay with us every summer!

Our neighborhood is the best! Dexter met all of our friends. We played infection tag, jumped on the trampoline, and played all over our street.

The library! The summer reading club is one of our favorite things about summer.

Every Thursday we eat yummy treats at the Farmer's Market downtown.

The metro parks! We learned about frogs and played in the tree house.

Family night at the World of Bounce means three hours of bouncing and a pizza dinner.

Happy July 4th!

Dexter's neighborhood sure likes fireworks! All we had to do was stand in the driveway to see a big show!

Nag's Head 2015

This summer we all went to Nag's Head with Grandma and Grandpa again. It is the best beach vacation ever. We swam and played in the sand every day.

Can you see the little guy on my head?

We also went to the North Carolina Aquarium.

Our favorite part was the pool where we could touch rays.

There were lots of dinosaurs outside, because dinosaurs are cool.

And Luke played his favorite game, putt-putt!
